Colina Doll

A piece of History

This piece of fabric is from the first weaving of The Heritage MacDougall Tartan.

The Heritage MacDougall tartan is a replica of the first tartan adopted by the Chiefs of the Clan MacDougall two hundred years ago.

The original tartan was discovered in 2010, hanging as curtains in the Clan Seat of Dunollie House, which lies a mile outside Oban in the West Highlands. An exact replica of this ancient cloth was woven in 2011 and used for exclusive clan projects.

Pieces of this unique fabric have been hand-stitched onto parchment and encased in a simple but striking black frame.

The parchment has been signed by Madam Morag MacDougall of MacDougall. Each picture and piece of tartan is unique.

There is a stand so the picture can be displayed on a table or wall mounted.

The 'Colina Doll' is the first doll to feature the Heritage MacDougall Tartan. She gets her name from Colina MacDougall.

'Colina' is hand made at Dunollie and her dress is made from fine Cord fabric in the green/brown colourway of the Heritage MacDougall Tartan. The Heritage MacDougall Tartan is used to trim the dress with satin ribbon to pick up the red and blue of the Tartan.

Her undergarments are made from pure cotton and trimmed with Nottingham lace. The petticoat has rows of pintucks at the hem and tiny buttons fasten the back of the bodice. The pantaloons are trimmed with Nottingham Lace.

Heavy felt shoes complete the outfit.

This doll is a Heritage item. It would enhance a Bedroom or add a wonderful Scottish feel to any setting.
